This limited-release holiday ham starts with heirloom Kurobuta pork, a heritage breed known for its rich flavor and fine marbling. The pigs are raised on small family farms across the Ozarks, Illinois, and Iowa. After curing, the ham is smoked over applewood and finished with Laird’s Applejack, a historic American spirit the Laird family has been making since the late 1600s.
The result is a tender, deeply savory ham with a gentle sweetness from the applejack and a mellow smoke from the applewood. It comes fully cooked and boneless, so it is easy to heat, slice, and serve at the center of a holiday spread. It also works well cut into thick ham steaks for brunch or shaved into sandwiches, eggs, greens, and soups.
