Sunday delivery is available for select zip codes. If you'd like to request Sunday as your delivery day, please let us know at questions@farmtopeople.com.  Currently for New Jersey, we deliver on Sundays and Thursdays. Refer your friends to expand delivery day options!

  • Medium (2-3 people) - Includes 8-10 seasonal produce items, rotating weekly.

Yes! Both our Cook's Boxes and Seasonal Produce Boxes include a printed recipe card with a recipe suggestion each week. For more information on the ingredients in your Farm Box, scan the QR code on the card to view the week's digital Know Your Food Card which includes storage tips, farm info, and more!

Recipes for the upcoming week’s Farm Boxes are added to the Recipes & More each Thursday. Additionally, they are also included in the ‘What’s In the Box’ email, which you will receive if you have an upcoming Farm Box delivery scheduled.

The Food

We source our produce from a group of trusted, small-scale farmers that are either USDA Certified Organic or utilize organic growing practices but may not be certified. Especially during the northeast growing season we source from farms within 300 miles of NYC.


To keep our food system transparent we use 'Know Your Food Icons' to identify the localness and growing practices for most of our products.

A few of our year-round produce items are sourced outside our local area (either in the winter months, or because those items don’t grow locally during any part of the year).

Some of our producers are certified organic, while some are not. The official organic certification is too costly for many of our producers, even though they abide by the same practices. We’ve made a commitment first and foremost to farmers in the Mid-Atlantic.


Our approach involves talking with every farmer and discussing their growing practices. We ask questions that are key components to other certifications such as G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices) and Certified Naturally Grown (USDA Organic Certification alternative).


Most of the local fruit is grown under the IPM certification (Integrated Pest Management). IPM is an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that only allows chemical use under specified circumstances.

In most cases, yes! Our Seasonal Produce Boxes are always plant-based and never contain meat, dairy, or gluten. We offer our Cook’s Boxes in three different options (Omnivore, Paleo, Vegetarian) to suit your specific dietary lifestyle.

All of our Farm Boxes are customizable, allowing you to swap out any item to which you might be allergic. Please keep in mind that our boxes are all packed in the same facility, so if you have a severe allergy to a particular item, we recommend you reach out to our team so we can best advise you and ensure your safety.

All of our beef, pork, poultry, and seafood cuts are frozen. This is the same way in which our producers store their proteins and deliver them to us. Flash-freezing meat ensures it maintains its farm-fresh or wild-caught flavor and texture while preserving the nutrients created by the animal’s natural diet.

ATTN: Due to current high demand, you may receive meat that is fresh. Our farm partners are working hard to help us feed as many New Yorkers as possible. If you receive a cut of fresh meat, you may choose to freeze it upon delivery or consume it within 3-5 days. If you have any concerns about your order, please don't hesitate to contact us at questions@farmtopeople.com.

Yes! Our produce is truly farm-fresh so you might notice a little dirt every now and then (that’s okay with us). We always recommend giving your produce a good rinse under cold water right before you prepare it.

No, we don’t. It is currently illegal to sell raw milk outside of farm locations in the state of New York. We do, however, sell raw milk cheeses. Browse our cheese selection here.

Orders

For Monday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Saturday.
For Tuesday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Sunday.
For Wednesday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Monday.
For Thursday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Tuesday.
For Friday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Wednesday.
For Sunday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Friday.

If you need to skip your delivery go to My Delivery Schedule and click 'skip delivery' for the corresponding date.

After adding a Farm Box to delivery, locate and click on the “Customize” button in your shopping cart. Use the + and - buttons to add and remove items from your cart as desired. See how in this short video tutorial.

You will have the ability to increase the quantity of most produce items in your, however, you will not be able to increase the quantity of non-produce items that are included in our Cook’s Boxes (meats, cheeses, pasta, etc.)

To get the most out of your Farm Box, be sure that there are “0 Items Left to Add” before finalizing your box’s contents. Don’t forget to SAVE your changes before continuing shopping, navigating away from the customize page, or logging out of your account.

Keep in mind that all customizations must be made prior to your order’s cut-off time.

Delivering harvested-to-order produce and local foods requires a bit of a different model than your traditional e-commerce checkout process. Our ordering process centers around an order “cut-off time,” which allows us to place orders with our farm partners leaving them enough time to harvest, process, and deliver their goods to us (just in time to deliver to you!).

For this reason, there is no checkout button on our website. All items in your cart at the time of order cut-off will be automatically finalized and billed for, and will arrive on your scheduled delivery day.

Navigate to the My Delivery Schedule page and click the “Skip Delivery” link associated with the date you’d prefer to not receive a delivery. If you’ve skipped a delivery date and have changed your mind, you can restore your order by clicking the appropriate date’s “Restore Delivery” link on the My Delivery Schedule page.

Looking to skip multiple consecutive weeks? 
Place a Delivery Hold on your account. Just select the start and end dates of your desired delivery hold period and click “Add Delivery Hold.” NO orders will generate during this time period, recurring or otherwise.

If you would like to place an order before the end of your Delivery Hold, you must first remove your delivery hold to be able to shop the online store. You can do so here: Delivery Hold

Payment

When you register for an account with us, you will be asked to enter a credit or debit card. Your card will remain on file and will be billed 48 hours prior to any scheduled delivery. You will receive a receipt after after your payment is processed.  

Payment details are collected directly and exclusively stored by our secure, PCI compliant merchant service provider, Stripe. Farm To People does not have access to your full credit card number, card expiration date, or CVV code.

What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept any major credit/debit card. We do not accept payment via cash or check.

You will receive an email notification approx. 48 hours prior to delivery if your credit card declines. If we don't hear from you, we'll send you an SMS message to the phone number you gave us when you signed up. We will make attempts to re-bill you prior to your delivery date. Please update your payment information in Account Info promptly to avoid any delay in the delivery of your order.

Delivery



We are not currently able to accommodate requests for specific delivery times or windows.

If the phone number you provided at registration can receive SMS messages, you will receive a text message notifying you when your driver begins their route. This message will also include an ETA and live GPS tracking link. Revisit or refresh the link above throughout the day to track your order in real time. You will receive a second text when your box has been delivered.

If you would like a more precise estimate of when your delivery will arrive, please contact us the morning of your scheduled delivery and we will be happy to help.

No worries! We deliver successfully to hundreds of people each week who are not present to receive their order in person.

To help us better serve you, please leave detailed instructions for your delivery driver under My Account > Preferences. You may want to include your building’s intercom or door code, a description of your front door, and/or where to leave your box if your driver isn’t able to access your building. All frozen and refrigerated items (including but not limited to proteins, dairy, ferments, and fresh pastas) are packed in a insulated box liner with non-toxic cold packs. In the colder months, orders containing only produce items may not include insulation or cold packs.

As of March 2021, we’ve migrated to 100% recyclable insulation. Our ice packs have a 100% recycled plastic material shell. The gel is plant-based, drain-safe, and compostable!

Yes! You’ll receive a link to tip your driver in your delivery SMS notification. Click the link to be taken to Venmo, a cashless payment app, and leave your desired tip.

We know tipping culture is weird, so please don’t feel pressured to tip! It’s our hope that when you feel like the service you received is worthy of a little something extra, you’ll share your gratitude by tipping your driver directly. Farm To People does not have visibility into the tips you share, nor do we factor tips into our drivers’ compensation packages.

Manage Your Subscription

For one-time delivery date changes, contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.

If you’re subscribed to a Farm Box and would like to change the delivery day for all future deliveries (e.g. from Wednesdays to Monday, or vice versa) follow the below instructions:
  1. Navigate to the My Subscriptions page and remove your Farm Box subscription
  2. Go to the Farm Boxes page, select your preferred frequency from the drop down menu under your desired box, then resubscribe by clicking “Add to Delivery”
  3. When prompted for your delivery start date, be sure to choose an available option on the day of the week you would prefer to receive all future deliveries.

Gift Farm To People

You can purchase an e-gift card here, which will apply to any item in our online store, including Farm Boxes. If you'd like to send a physical gift card, please email us and we'll be happy to assist you! Unfortunately, we do not accept gift orders.

Why? We want to make sure the recipient of your gift has the ability to choose the items in their box so no food goes to waste. We also want to make sure their delivery of perishable goods isn't a surprise!

We’ve been supporting makers and farmers since 2012!
Farm to People was founded by a father and son team - David and Michael Robinov -  from a shared passion for wholesome, delicious food made the way it should be, by small-batch makers using traditional methods. We hope Farm To People can be a platform that will energize a sustainable, transparent food system conversation for conscious eaters who want to support small-batch producers!
