Yes, all of our Farm Boxes are customizable! Log into your account to customize your box. Remove items you don’t like and double up on item you’d prefer more of instead! Just be sure to do so before your order cut-off time and don’t forget to save your changes before you navigate to another page!

Currently, our Farm Boxes are only available on a subscription basis. This allows us to support our local farm partners with meaningful harvest commitments and keeps our food waste at less than 1%!
If you’d like to give one of our Farm Boxes a try, simply subscribe to your box of choice, allow your order cut-off time to pass, then remove your subscription under My Account > Recurring Items.

Our recipe-driven Cook’s Boxes (Omnivore, Paleo, and Vegetarian) are curated to serve 2 people. You will be able to enjoy 1 full meal, plus additional fruits and veggies to use throughout the rest of the week.
Our Seasonal Produce Boxes serve:
- Small (1-2 people) - Includes 6-8 seasonal produce items, rotating weekly.
- Medium (2-3 people) - Includes 8-10 seasonal produce items, rotating weekly.
- Large (4+ people) - Includes 9-11 seasonal produce items, rotating weekly.

Yes! Both our Cook's Boxes and Seasonal Produce Boxes include a printed recipe card with a recipe suggestion each week. For more information on the ingredients in your Farm Box, scan the QR code on the card to view the week's digital Know Your Food Card which includes storage tips, farm info, and more!
You can also browse Recipes & More where you’ll find an archive of hundreds of recipes, tips, and suggestions. Recipes for the upcoming week’s Farm Boxes are added to the Recipes & More each Thursday. Additionally, they are also included in the ‘What’s In the Box’ email, which you will receive if you have an upcoming Farm Box delivery scheduled.
Please note, additional ingredients not included in your box may be required to complete some recipes.

The Food
We source our produce from a group of trusted, small-scale farmers that are either USDA Certified Organic or utilize organic growing practices but may not be certified. Especially during the northeast growing season we source from farms within 300 miles of NYC.
To keep our food system transparent we use 'Know Your Food Icons' to identify the localness and growing practices for most of our products.
A few of our year-round produce items are sourced outside our local area (either in the winter months, or because those items don’t grow locally during any part of the year).

Some of our producers are certified organic, while some are not. The official organic certification is too costly for many of our producers, even though they abide by the same practices. We’ve made a commitment first and foremost to farmers in the Mid-Atlantic.
Our approach involves talking with every farmer and discussing their growing practices. We ask questions that are key components to other certifications such as G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices) and Certified Naturally Grown (USDA Organic Certification alternative).
Most of the local fruit is grown under the IPM certification (Integrated Pest Management). IPM is an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that only allows chemical use under specified circumstances.
In most cases, yes! Our Seasonal Produce Boxes are always plant-based and never contain meat, dairy, or gluten. We offer our Cook’s Boxes in three different options (Omnivore, Paleo, Vegetarian) to suit your specific dietary lifestyle.
All of our Farm Boxes are customizable, allowing you to swap out any item to which you might be allergic. Please keep in mind that our boxes are all packed in the same facility, so if you have a severe allergy to a particular item, we recommend you reach out to our team so we can best advise you and ensure your safety.
Additionally, you can choose to order à la carte to further tailor your order to your specific dietary needs, no subscription required. To learn how to order à la carte watch this video tutorial.

ATTN: Due to current high demand, you may receive meat that is fresh. Our farm partners are working hard to help us feed as many New Yorkers as possible. If you receive a cut of fresh meat, you may choose to freeze it upon delivery or consume it within 3-5 days. If you have any concerns about your order, please don't hesitate to contact us at questions@farmtopeople.com.

Orders
For Monday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Friday.
For Tuesday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Saturday.
For Wednesday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Sunday.
For Thursday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Monday.
For Friday deliveries, the cut-off time is 11:30 PM on Tuesday.
If you need to skip your delivery go to My Account> Upcoming Deliveries and click 'skip delivery' for the corresponding date.

You will have the ability to increase the quantity of most produce items in your, however, you will not be able to increase the quantity of non-produce items that are included in our Cook’s Boxes (meats, cheeses, pasta, etc.)
To get the most out of your Farm Box, be sure that there are “0 Items Left to Add” before finalizing your box’s contents. Don’t forget to SAVE your changes before continuing shopping, navigating away from the customize page, or logging out of your account.
Keep in mind that all customizations must be made prior to your order’s cut-off time.

If you are visiting the website Thursday-Sunday and don’t see the “Customize” button under your Farm Box’s name in your cart, please contact us for assistance.
For this reason, there is no checkout button on our website. All items in your cart at the time of order cut-off will be automatically finalized and billed for, and will arrive on your scheduled delivery day.

Navigate to the Upcoming Deliveries page and click the “Skip Delivery” link associated with the date(s) you’d prefer to not receive a delivery. You can skip a delivery up to six weeks into the future.
If you’ve skipped a delivery date and have changed your mind, you can restore your order by clicking the appropriate date’s “Restore Delivery” link on the Upcoming Deliveries page.
Looking to skip multiple consecutive weeks? Or dates more than six weeks in the future?
Place a Vacation Hold on your account. Just select the start and end dates of your desired delivery hold period and click “Add Vacation.” NO orders will generate during this time period, recurring or otherwise.
If you would like to place an order before the end of your Vacation Hold, you must first remove your vacation hold to be able to shop the online store. You can do so here: Delivery Hold

Oh no, we’re so sorry about that! Please let us know ASAP and we’ll make it right. If an item is broken/spoiled/etc., please take a photo so we can inform the maker, farmer, and/or packing team. Photos can be emailed to questions@farmtopeople.com or texted to (973) 910-1445.

Payment
When you register for an account with us, you will be asked to enter a credit or debit card. Your card will remain on file and will be billed 48 hours prior to any scheduled delivery. You will receive a receipt after after your payment is processed.
Payment details are collected directly and exclusively stored by our secure, PCI compliant merchant service provider, Stripe. Farm To People does not have access to your full credit card number, card expiration date, or CVV code.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept any major credit/debit card. We do not accept payment via cash or check.

Credits are shown as negative balances, while positive balances reflect due payment.
Your credit will apply automatically to your next order. Your credit will not appear in your cart, but always under Delivery History and on your payment receipt.

In most cases, you may only apply one discount code or voucher per order (excluding gift cards.)
Some discounts only apply to subscription items, so double check your code to make sure that’s not the case. Please also make sure your code has not expired.
If you applied a discount code and later cancelled the order to which it was applied, please email us (include code in message) and we can help. You will likely experience difficulties applying the code to another order.

Delivery


Unfortunately, we are not currently able to accommodate requests for specific delivery times or windows.
If the phone number you provided at registration can receive SMS messages, you will receive a text message notifying you when your driver begins their route. This message will also include an ETA and live GPS tracking link. Revisit or refresh the link above throughout the day to track your order in real time. You will receive a second text when your box has been delivered.
If you would like a more precise estimate of when your delivery will arrive, please contact us the morning of your scheduled delivery and we will be happy to help.

To help us better serve you, please leave detailed instructions for your delivery driver under My Account > Preferences. You may want to include your building’s intercom or door code, a description of your front door, and/or where to leave your box if your driver isn’t able to access your building. We have temporarily suspended this program due to COVID-19. If you wish, please save your packaging materials for return at a later date.

Yes! We hope you’ll participate in our Reuse Program and return your undamaged boxes, insulation liners, and cold packs by leaving them out for pick-up by your driver when you are expecting your next delivery. We cannot accept damaged materials or packaging from other retailers or delivery services.
It’s helpful to leave a note where to find your packaging for pick-up in your delivery instructions here.
To recycle damaged/leaking cold packs, please follow these instructions.

We know tipping culture is weird, so please don’t feel pressured to tip! It’s our hope that when you feel like the service you received is worthy of a little something extra, you’ll share your gratitude by tipping your driver directly. Farm To People does not have visibility into the tips you share, nor do we factor tips into our drivers’ compensation packages.

If you’re subscribed to a Farm Box and would like to change the delivery day for all future deliveries (e.g. from Wednesdays to Monday, or vice versa) follow the below instructions:
- Navigate to the Recurring Items page and remove your Farm Box subscription
- Go to the Farm Boxes page, select your preferred frequency from the drop down menu under your desired box, then resubscribe by clicking “Add to Delivery”
- When prompted for your delivery start date, be sure to choose an available option on the day of the week you would prefer to receive all future deliveries

To cancel your subscription, navigate to the Recurring Items page and remove all items shown by clicking the gray (x) to the right of each item. Click “Update Order” to save your changes.
Note: Your shopping cart only reflects deliveries up to six weeks into the future. Removing items from specific delivery dates in your shopping cart will NOT cancel your subscription unless you select “All Future Deliveries” when prompted.

Gift Farm To People
You can purchase an e-gift card here, which will apply to any item in our online store, including Farm Boxes. If you'd like to send a physical gift card, please email us and we'll be happy to assist you! Unfortunately, we do not accept gift orders.
Why? We want to make sure the recipient of your gift has the ability to choose the items in their box so no food goes to waste. We also want to make sure their delivery of perishable goods isn't a surprise!
