About

Why Farm To People

The current food supply chain is costly, inefficient, and wasteful. By the time we get our produce, 1500 miles and 12 days after it’s been picked, it has lost 50% of its nutrition and been sprayed with pesticides and/or injected with chemical additives. 67% of Americans don’t trust the safety of the food they eat, and our health is the trade-off in Big Ag’s harmful farming practices which focus on fast profit, not sustainability.

Alternative channels to access high quality food exist, but are largely inadequate. Farm stands, CSAs, and farmers markets have inflexible shopping schedules, charge upfront fees, or require a large time commitment; they simply do not fit the modern consumer’s lifestyle.

Events at Farm to people Warehouse

Community

Having an intimate relationship with our neighbors is key to our mission. Our Bushwick warehouse serves not only as the home of our delivery service operations, but also as a place to gather, learn, and celebrate the philosophy, “Know your food.” We hold events to educate and celebrate our amazing community! After all, we wouldn’t be Farm to People without the People. Stop on by sometime.

Our Partners

We’re honored to work with an ever-growing group of incredibly conscious and ethically-minded people. Read about our trusted Farmers and Makers.

Community Fridges

Give Back

We utilize consumer demand trends and farmer supply data to place our orders and help our farm partners crop plan. Because of this, we manage to keep our food waste under 1%! Since it’s not 0%, we partner with community organizations in our area to give leftover food to those in need. We also offer the ability to donate online to organizations fighting food insecurity.

“I deeply look forward to Monday mornings when I choose - yes, choose - what goes in my box over coffee and my last slice of Shewolf sourdough. The seasonal produce selection changes every week and keeps me on my toes, but it’s those constant pantry staples that keep me coming back.”

"I’ve been using Farm to People for over 2 years now. I love the fact that the produce is sourced locally, which reduces travel time, waste, and emissions. It’s also a great way to support local farms & farmers."

"Every Monday when my Farm to People box arrives, I get so excited to see what I'll be experimenting with for the upcoming week! They curate the ingredients just enough so you get some solid direction, while leaving plenty of room for creativity in the kitchen."
