Nolan believes that small scale, sustainable farming is the answer to many environmental, animal welfare, and human health issues of our time.

After a career in corporate finance left him unsatisfied, head farmer Shane Hughes made his way back to Reisterstown, Maryland to take over the family business of cattle farming. Hughes has managed not only to provide high quality, tasty meats, pasture-raised without growth hormones or stimulants, but he also has worked to preserve the natural water resources of his farm, maintain healthy grazing pasture for all his animals through field rotation and natural fertilization from the animals manure, and convert his farm to using predominantly solar energy.
