The farm’s history traces to the French family, who used the land as summer pasture in the 1600s, with David French establishing a homestead there in 1765. Over the generations, the farm has evolved from dairy, poultry, orchards, and hay production into a diverse agricultural operation focused on fresh produce and livestock.
Clover Nook grows a wide variety of seasonal vegetables, strawberries, sweet corn, flowers, and other crops, while also raising British White Park beef cattle. In 2000, Clover Nook Farm was recognized as a Connecticut Century Farm, reflecting its longstanding connection to the land and the local community.
