With dark green leaves and beautiful purple veins, this Asian green has dark purple stems which end in little green buds that give way to yellow flowers, just like all the other members of the broccoli family. Hon Tsai Tai tastes similarly to broccoli rabe with less of an edge and a more tender leaf. While it can be eaten raw, sauteing, stir-frying, and adding to soups and sauces will take off any bitter edge and leave you with a unique texture and flavor experience.
