Lundberg Family Farm

Richvale, CA

Lundberg Family Farms follows the guiding principle of founder Grandpa Albert Lundberg: “Leave the land better than you found it.” For generations, the family has grown rice with a deep respect for the land and surrounding wildlife, using organic and regenerative practices to support soil health and biodiversity.

Their rice is Regenerative Organic Certified®, USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, and Certified Gluten-Free—reflecting their commitment to sustainability. They enrich the soil with cover crops that restore nutrients, reduce erosion, and sequester carbon, adding up to 100,000 pounds of organic matter per acre.

Their rice fields also serve as habitats for over 200 species. Seasonal flooding supports migrating waterfowl, which in turn help decompose rice straw naturally. The farm has even rescued an estimated 30,000 duck eggs by relocating nests found in their fields.

Instead of herbicides, Lundberg uses water to manage weeds through careful flooding and drying cycles. Their region’s clay soil retains water efficiently, allowing them to return some of it to nearby rivers, benefiting aquatic life—particularly endangered salmon—in a process they call Fish Food on Floodplain Farm Fields.

Lundberg Family Farms continues to farm with purpose, protecting the health of the planet for future generations.
