Little Zing Danish Mustard
San Diego, CA
Little Zing makes a Danish-style mustard tracing back to a recipe developed by Helle Jorgensen more than a century ago, originally made in her kitchen in Denmark and shared among family and friends who kept it close. Sweet up front with a sharp horseradish finish, the mustard became a fixture on open-faced sandwiches, alongside cold cuts, and across a wide range of everyday meals. Helle's son Peter continued making it, passing it along to clients and loved ones as a private staple rather than a commercial product.
Today, Helle's grandchildren have brought Little Zing to market for the first time, with the original recipe unchanged. The condiment reflects the Danish open-faced sandwich tradition it was built around, and pairs naturally with smørrebrød, charcuterie, grilled meats, and anywhere a sweet, horseradish-forward mustard has a place.
