Concord Grapes

Out of stock

Concord grapes originated in Concord, MA in 1849 when E.W. Bull first cultivated them in order to grow grapes in a colder climate. The original is still thriving today in Concord and the surrounding Northeast area! Concord grape juice, with its signature taste, was first made by Dr. Thomas Welch, a prohibitionist, who sold his famous creation as an alternative for communion wine. While the whole grape is edible, many people prefer to eat concords without the skin and/or seeds. Add to baked goods; simmer into a syrup or jelly; enjoy a refreshing snack.

Eden Valley Growers, Eden NY

One of the oldest cooperatives in New York State, Eden Valley Growers provides a way for many of the small farms in Western NY outside of Buffalo with a way to broaden their markets and provide them with support outside of their immediate growing seasons. This allows for their growers to focus on producing the best possible produce without having to sacrifice any of their high quality practices to try and meet market demands. With more than 8 specialty growers, Eden Valley provides fresh produce like peas, leafy lettuces, beans, cauliflower, cucumbers, eggplant, tomatoes, and summer squash during the summer, and kale and winter squash throughout the fall to Western New York and the surrounding areas.
