Richter's Farm

Richter's Farm has a rich history that began in 1905, when the current generation's great-grandfather journeyed west from Minnesota with hopes of joining the Alaskan Gold Rush. Although he never found gold, he settled in the Puyallup Valley in 1906 and purchased land. There, he cleared the property and began cultivating hops and raspberries.

Five generations later, the same land is still being farmed by members of the Richter family. Today, Richter's Farm grows a diverse array of crops, including green and red leaf lettuce, Romaine, green cabbage, napa cabbage, bok choy, cilantro, and a variety of hot peppers such as jalapeño, pasilla, Anaheim, serrano, and habanero. The farm also produces rhubarb, green beans, and beets.

Over the years, much has changed—crops, equipment, marketing strategies, and the integration of computers. To remain successful, Richter's Farm has continually adapted to new technology. One of the most recent advancements they are proud to implement is a comprehensive food safety and traceability program. This system allows them to track each carton back to its specific field and harvest date.

With a strong commitment to quality and local production, Richter's Farm continues to thrive, producing fresh, locally grown produce for the community.
