Bova Fresh is a Florida-based grower, packer, and importer founded in 2014 by Bob Wilhelm and Steve San Filippo. Their organic strawberry program sources from Plant City, Florida, one of the country's most productive strawberry-growing regions, during the state's peak season from December through April. The company works directly with family farming operations, keeping the supply chain short and the sourcing traceable from field to delivery.
That direct relationship with growers is central to how Bova Fresh operates. Wilhelm and San Filippo built the company around the idea of opening the playing field to smaller, family-owned farms, cutting out the anonymous middlemen that characterize much of the produce industry.
